BIM5: Defeat Procrastination in 5 Minutes

There’s a lot

of research and reasons why we procrastinate: fear of failure, fear of success, lack of prioritization, overfilling plate, and the list goes on.  Now, how do you battle and defeat procrastination when you need to the most?

This is one way that I found that works.

Ever notice yourself procrastinating, and if you got started you were good to go?

Yeah — that’s a big if when we’re procrastinating.  A huge if.  That if is the only thing standing in our way of getting our work done. On the flip side…

Ever notice yourself procrastinating, and then you’re on Facebook for 20 minutes?

It’s easy to procrastinate.  Initial momentum of productivity and procrastination have the same powerful effect: 5 minutes is enough to get the ball rolling.

Build Initial Momentum in 5 Minutes.  That’s all it takes.  BIM5.

  • Set an alarm for 5 minutes
  • Start working
  • See the work you accomplish

How much did you get done?
